Welcome To The Dojo!

Welcome to the darting dojo.

I will be your text based sensei (Teacher) who will give you a short guide on how to get the best out of the dojo.

First thing is understanding - Understand that this is created for you to be able to improve your game treat each practice game as a simulation of a real match.

Second there is no prize so only post results you have actually achieved, these results are used for you to track your progress and will be mean nothing if you cheat.

Finally have fun! Don't stress if you don't always progress learning darts is a journey. 

So get into your darting stance. BEGIN.

Game 1 - Power Scoring.

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your average and achieving as high of a scoring average as you can.

​

You will throw 100 darts adding your scores as you go.

(This may be easier to monitor with a darts scoring app or google sheets)

​

Calculate your three dart average.

Post your average as a score.

Game 2 - 100@20s.

​

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your effective grouping in the highest scoring section of the board.

​

You will throw 100 darts at the 20 segment adding up the total "hits"

(Scoring - Single 20 = 1 hit - Double 20 = 2 hits - Triple 20 = 3 hits)

Post your hits as a score.

Game 3 - 50 @ Bulls.

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your effective grouping in the centre of the board.

​

You will throw 50 darts at the bullseye adding up the total "hits"

(Scoring - Outer bull = 1 hit - Inner Bull = 2 hit)

Game 4 - HANG TOUGH. (Warning Hard Game)

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your ability to adapt to opposite sides of the board.

​

You will throw darts starting at double 3 and working up each individual segment so - D3 - Big Single 3 - T3 - Small Single 3 - 25 - bull (then up the 20s in the same way hit D20 twice then back down to D3 

Once this has been achieved you start on double 11 and go across to D6 and back again - you do not go onto the next segment until you complete the one you are on.

(Scoring - how many darts did it take you to hit every single segment that is your score.)

Game 5 - CRICKET COUNT UP.

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your ability to group in different areas of the board to help improve checkouts later.

​

You will throw 3 darts at each of the numbers - 20-19-18-17-16-15 and the bull

​

(Scoring Single = 1hit - Double = 2hits - Treble = 3hits)

​

Add Up your total amount of hits.

Post your number of hits as a score.

Game 6 - CRICKET Sprint.

​

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your ability to adapt to varied high scoring areas of the board.

​

You will throw at 20 - 19 - 18 - 17 - 16 - 15 and the bull, You need to hit a number for 3 "marks" in order to move onto the next number.

​

(Scoring Single = 1mark - Double = 2marks - Treble = 3marks)

​

Add Up your total amount of darts to complete the exercise

Post your number of darts thrown as a score.

Game 7 - Round The World (RTW).

​

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your ability to utilise the whole board.

​

You will throw at number 1 - 2 and so on until you have done 20 and then bullseye. 3 darts to be used for every single number. 

​

(Scoring Single = 1hit - Double = 2hits - Treble = 3hits)

​

Add Up your total amount of hits to complete the exercise

Post your number of hits as a score.

Game 8 - Bob's 27.

​

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your ability to hit any double! - key for finishing.

​

You will throw 3 darts at each double in order starting with double 1 then double 2 etc. 

- You start at 27 points

- Your Score is a running total

- If you hit a double you add the value of that double to your score so hit double 10 once when your on that double you would add 20 points.

- If you miss with all 3 darts you subtract the value of the double from the score once

- If you get 0 or below as your overall score that is the end of your go

- If you make it to the bull and finish your total running score is your score.

Post your score at the end of your go (if you finish before you get to the bull post what segment you got to.

Game 9 - Catch 40.

​

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your ability to finish and count. (HIGH IMPORTANCE)

​

You have 40 finishes to try and check out from 61 - 100 in order.

You have 6 darts to finish the checkout

​

Finish in 2 darts - 3 points

Finish in 3 darts - 2 points 

Finish in 4 - 6 darts - 1 point

​

(if you don't manage it in the first 3 darts you continue with what was left in the first handful)

​

(Catch 40 is on a lot of darts applications)

Post your score at the end of your go (total points)

Game 10 - JDC Challenge.

​

Game Rules. 

​

This drill focusses on your ability to utilise the whole board.

​

First Phase

You will throw 3 darts at the 10 segment then the 11 and so on up to 15.

- Add up the total score for the targets hit so if you hit a double and a single 10 you would add 30 points

- If you manage to hit a shanghai on the segment your on (Single Double and treble) Add 100 bonus points.

​

Next Phase

You will throw 1 dart at each double in order number 1 - 20 then 1 at the bul if you hit the double in question add 50 points (If you hit the bullseye add 100 points)

​

Final Phase 

Same as the First Phase however you will start again at number 15 and work around until number 20.

Still adding 100 points for any shanghai hit.

Post your total score at the end of the whole game.
